	Sonkhonkett, MA. 01986. Pop. 20,587. A few miles north of Boston, nestled between Revere, Saugus and Lynn is the town of Sonkhonkett. Partitioned off in the 1620's as Indian territory by treaty illegal settlers established the Rumney Marsh as a farming community. After the separation from Chelsea in 1871 Sonkhonkett boomed in the lucrative industries of Paper clip and novelty vomit production. This along with its horse track and mediocre yield in clams sustained the town until the end of the industrial era in the 1970's.

North Sonkhonkett Accessible via Salem turnpike route 107 (includes 7 round-abouts thru the zipcode), 450, 455, 459 bus and has a commuter stop abutting Coppola Bocce Court. Every fifth Thursday Charlie Nolan operates a ferry service from Blanchard entrance on Miskamquamkett beach for the fee of $13 or two packs of 'gansetts.
